Think about driverless police superbikes with 360-degree cameras capable of issuing tickets to offenders while patrolling the streets and highways 24/7 – could be possible in the near future.
Driverless Police Superbikes – the future highway patrollers
Canadian mechanical engineer Charles Bombardier and his company Imaginactive, a nonprofit organization, inspires the next generation by creating future-proof vehicles. “It’s only the natural evolution of technology,” he said.
“Traffic cameras have been around for years. But with the advancement of pilotless technology we now have new solutions to the basic needs in our public works systems, including in the area of public safety,” he added.
Look at the concept designs they made so far below.
Interceptor
The Interceptor is a driverless police motorcycle that can monitor traffic and issue tickets for violations via mobile apps, concept design by Charles Bombardier and Jan Metelka.
A type of police-drone with 360 degree panoramic cameras, while patrolling, this vehicle could seamlessly scan license plates and record offenders in real-time video.
Brigade
The Brigade – Interceptor’s counterpart, designed by Eduardo Arndt. It features a cleaner energy concept, powered by zero emission fuel hydrogen.
The Brigade – Inspired by the geometric simplicity of the racing motorbikes of the 1980s. Vintage inspired but adds modern features like LED headlights and security cameras across the bicycle.
Skreemr
According to Imaginactive, Skreemr is an air vehicle that would be able to fly faster than the speed of sound. Too fast enough that lets you travel New York to London in just 30 minutes.
Antipode
The Antipode is one of Imaginactive’s most futuristic designs. Another air vehicle that can travel from London to New York in 11 minutes, almost 20 minute faster than Skreemr.
“The cities of the future that Imaginactive works for will be less polluted. There will also be less road accidents, as driverless automated vehicles can be equipped with technology that detects technical failures such as oil leaks.
It’s all about innovation. Share your idea, and it opens up a door for other designers to build on it” – Charles Bombardier
